Doctor, how does your treatment compare to the one being used in England, the one with Microwave heat and UV lights?
You’re reaction is typical to find out about these modern keratoconus treatments. If you would like a comprehensive information kit, please call the office 310-860-1900. Thank you.
wow I have this problem & I never knew I could get this I had a corneal transplant in my eye & I was legally blind but it improving is this treatment available in australia
We routinely treat people with your degree of Keratoconus. If you would like Dr. Brian to review your records to see if you are a candidate, please call the office at 310-860-1900.
I had keratoconus for 18 years, it got to the point were i have to use a soft contact under my hard contacts (piggy back) can i still be a candidate for the treatment thanks
Yes
You would need to be evaluated to see if you are a candidate for Intacs. Dr. Brian routinely performs complimentary chart reviews. If that is of interest to you, please call 310-860-1900.
Can anyone get intacs? I want to wear contacts but my eyes are really sensitive!! With contacts my vision is 20/40!
Does the Dr. accept Medicare?
Ortho-K affects the epithelium of the cornea which is not structural. Years ago we studied the effect of this procedure on Ortho-K and it wasn’t able to affect the epithelium. This procedure is effective for the deeper structural layers of the cornea which is the reason it works for Keratoconus.
Doctor. can this procedure be used to to harden the cornea and lock in the effects of Ortho-K refractive correction to prevent regression once the lenses are no longer worn? Are there any talks about.
It’s only available at Dr. Brian’s office in Beverly Hills. We routinely treat people who fly in from the East Coast. If you would like information about that, please call the office 310-860-1900.
Can you recommend someone in New York Dr. Boxer? I am 26 and have had a Corneal Transplant on my left eye but I still can’t see out of it, it’s all melted wax figures. and my right eye continues to get worse, I need to consult with someone who specializes in this but I have no insurance.
That’s correct. For vision improvement, Intacs and other procedures are designed for that.
I live in the uk and i recently had cross linking on my left eye, it has not “cured” the condition but they said it would stop it from progressively getting worse. …
Thanks for sharing your experience Mikey. We hope more doctors will start informing their patients of these less invasive options that are available (and have been for the last 9 years)
i have keratoconus…it hit me when i was 16 years of age I’m now 22 and i have had about 4 operations in 6 years …i had to get a cornea transplant i still have one eye to go but believe me when i say it is worth it to yourself …we only get one life So make it a good one
Thank you for your post. There is no need to fee alone any more. If you would like futher information, please call the office at 310-860-1900.
